We often receive phone calls from folks asking where they can purchase our products. We used to have two sources of retail selling – Online and the city of Boise, Idaho’s downtown Capital City Public Market. However, since the market moved to Garden City, we now sell Online only. We think it will eventually return to the downtown area.
Boise has become a hotbed for new development and population growth for the last fifteen years or so. Settled alongside of the Boise River, the city rests at the base of the Boise Mountains and offers access to some of the west’s most diverse and exciting outdoor recreation possibilities. Skiing is minutes away from downtown, fishing is in your backyard, high mountain lakes and rivers and streams are within a few hours drive and the wide-open high desert country lies to the south.
At the heart of all this is downtown Boise and that is where we can be found on most Saturday mornings and afternoons from April through December.
What is now The Capital City Public Market started out in 1994 as an open market on 8th Street in downtown Boise. It was founded to mirror the success of other markets throughout the region and at the time, was the only farmers’ market of its kind in Boise or the surrounding area.
In the two and half decades since, The Capital City Public Market has grown steadily, expanding its footprint and adding vendors each year. The Market now consists of 130+ vendors a day during the peak season, and fills Idaho Street and 8th Street with thousands of shoppers every week. The Market generates millions of dollars for the local economy and helps independent, seasonal micro-businesses grow and develop their client base.
High Desert Soap has been attending the market since 2011 and has been a full member since 2012. When in town, please stop by and say hi.
